The History Problem

History - Everybody has a history.  Without it we wouldn’t know who we are and why, what works and what won’t work.  Uninformed actions invite disaster.

As the school board re-organizes with an all-new facilities committee (no one we met with last fall is still on that committee) the future of the Vought house depends on their ability to get up to speed on (1) what’s practical and (2) the most responsible decision.

At Risk: Hunterdon’s Most Historic Site!

The Clinton Township School Board is in crisis.  The annual operating budget is consistently disapproved by the voters, the school board has had a high turnover in the past few years and the recent elections did not fill all the vacancies on the board.  

The lack of continuity, inexperienced board members, and inadequate talent to share leadership roles endangers the quality of our schools.  A recent school board decision has also put at risk the most significant historic site in Hunterdon County, the Vought House, built in 1759 which has sat neglected Read the rest of this entry »
