MEETING FRIDAY SEPT. 12 at 3pm @ my office,

September 9th, 2008 by Don

Believe it of not, we have a lot going on, including but not limited to getting the school board to focus on the specifics of what needs to be done to transfer ownership of this property.

  • We need to decide the contents of the mailer we’re sending to all residents of Clinton Township on the historic significance of this property.  (Hopefully the school board will have something positive we can put in this mailing.)   That needs to go into the mails in October.
  • We’re working on a coloring book and need to get an update on that and work out the production costs and printing schedule.
  • Melissa worked up a preliminary draft grant proposal for the Hunterdon County Cultural and Historic Commission - that needs to be edited and revised.  (I’ll have copies for you at the meeting.)
  • We need to arrange printing of the educational booklet so it is available in  October for distribution and can be mentioned in the mailer to all Clinton Twp. residents.
  • This can also be distributed at the New Jersey Forum, the biannual (every other not twice a year) history convention sponsred by the NJ Historic Commission.  I’m giving a paper (Vital History, What Two Generations of a Loyalist Family Reveals About the American Revolution) on a panel with Bob Craig about 18th Century families.   Since this conference draws local history people from around the state, this could be a good place to get the (printed) word out.
  • Finally, we need to meet, yet again, with the facilities committee of the school board (like we did in September 2007) to cover almost the identical ground with a mostly new cast of characters.  I will say no more.

See you then
